ABOUT
Hi, I’m Mike Stacy.
I don’t look like a politician and that’s a good thing. I’m a classic case of ‘don’t judge a book by its cover.’ I am a Spartanburg native, small business owner, and most importantly a family man. My wife and I have been married for 28 years and we have 3 grown children.
I began my career at BMW where I served in various roles over a 20-year period. I was an effective communicator and collaborator with coworkers and management.
Since 2015, I have successfully grown a real estate property business across Spartanburg County providing affordable housing. This has been my full-time job managing all aspects of the business including financial oversight, legal compliance, and tax responsibilities. I have developed an understanding of building permits, local ordinances, and navigating this County’s administrative offices.
This experience is a testament to my solid work ethic, planning, drive, and determination. I am committed to bringing these same skills to serve the citizens of Spartanburg County as Chairman.

VOICE OF THE PEOPLE
Our local government works in secret, signs NDAs, and uses code names for development projects. By the time residents understand what has happened, it's too late. This must stop by having more public conversations and less closed door discussions. Even small changes like having the County Council's monthly meeting saved as a recorded video so that it can be watched in the future is a simple way to improve transparency. The county's financial statements need to be audited in order to understand where every penny has gone.
There have been too many new high-density subdivisions built around old roads that can't support them. We need better urban planning that promotes economic growth while protecting the citizens that live here. Also, we should not appoint people to boards who's company is a direct conflict of interest where it benefits them and not the community.
Representation needs to be for all residents of Spartanburg County including the small communities like Mayo, Clifton, Arcadia, and Wellford to name a few. This county deserves a fighter and not a politician who ignores their concerns. In 2026, it took hundreds of people to call and write to their County Council members in order to vote against a tax break on a large data center in Moore, SC.
